Window Installation Process

Every product we offer has energy efficiency benefits. These benefits not only come from the products themselves, but also from how we install the products. To help you achieve maximum energy efficiency, we use retro-fit windows.

The energy efficiency benefits of our Amerimax retro-fit windows are many, but here are the energy efficiency features that stand out:

The Ameriglass™ E2 Insulated Glass System features low emissivity glass coated with dual microscopic layers of silver, combined with the TrueWARM® Structural Foam Spacer, Argon gas fill to create a dual sealed glass unit with superior energy efficiency and long-term durability. The Ameriglass™ AG3 Low Emissivity glass is coated with a microscopic 12 layer patented formula with three layers of silver.

Ameriglass™ AG3 and E2 Systems Provide:

  • Maximum UV Protection
  • Extremely Low Thermal Transmittance
  • Superior Condensation Resistance
  • Reduced Sound Transmission
  • Long-term Durability
  • Lifetime Warranty
  • Energy Savings

Our Amerimax windows feature Neat® Naturally Clean Glass, which contains a permanent coating of titanium dioxide and silicon dioxide that lets the sun and rain help keep your windows clean. It harnesses the sun’s UV rays to loosen dirt so water can rinse it away, leaving windows virtually spotless. Your windows will stay cleaner longer and will clean easier.

In addition, your Amerimax windows have more insulation as well as built-in UV protection that blocks 95% of the sun’s harmful UV rays. This means less energy is needed to heat or cool your home, resulting in a lower energy bill month after month while having less of an impact on the environment. The Reduced Sound Transmission feature also helps to keep your home quieter by drastically reducing outside noises while inside your home.

At Remodel USA, we install your windows using an energy efficient, non-invasive method referred to as ‘retro-fit installation’.

Why Use Retro-Fit Windows?

The main advantage to our Amerimax retro-fit windows is that the installation does not compromise the integrity of the moisture barrier from your structural framing, which is under your existing window frames. With retro-fit windows, your old window frames stay in place, the windows are installed INSIDE the frame, and a non-expanding foam seals the small opening between the frame and window to achieve an airtight, moisture-proof installation that will last a lifetime. This is a quick process that normally only takes one day to complete.

Retro-fit Window Installation Step-by-step Process

STEP 1: Measure and Assess the Work Area

We send a professional out to measure your windows so you always get the right sizes the first time. While taking measurements, we also carefully observe and advise you on how to streamline and expedite the installation process. For example, we take preliminary notes about where we can place our tools when we are ready to start the job, take note of any furniture or other large items in front of the windows that we will need to move, advise you to keep your pets away from the work area, etc.

STEP 2: Remove Old Window Panels

Our installation professionals remove all of your old window panels – including both stationary and sliding panels as well as screens and dividers. Your stucco, drywall, etc are never damaged.

STEP 3: Apply Non-Expanding Foam Sealant

To ensure a beautiful appearance and snug fit for windows that do not infiltrate air or moisture, we apply a non-expanding foam into the small grooves in the window frames and around the edges of the windows, and behind the fin or brick mould multi-tiered casing.

STEP 4: Install New Windows

If necessary, the fin is trimmed to the correct length and the windows are installed.

STEP 5: Inspection with Customer

At the end of the installation process, we do a walk-through inspection with you to make sure all windows have been installed to your 100% satisfaction and all your questions and concerns have been addressed and remedied.
